RAB holds Outreach at Commonwealth

RAB OUTREACH

The RAB held a well-attended outreach meeting at the BHA’s Commonwealth Development in Brighton (off Commonwealth Ave) on February 26…at 6:30 PM.

State Representative Kevin G. Honan (Brighton) made attendees smile with anecdotes about growing up in that area.

BHA Administrator Bill McGonagle had good news for tenants. No family will lose their housing this fiscal year due to budget cuts – and the BHA could possibly begin issuing a small number of new Section 8 vouchers.

Mac McCreight (Greater Boston Housing Services, GBLS) talked about the Sequester and how those federal budget cuts in Washington DC almost caused some families to lose their homes!

The RAB holds several Outreach meetings each year – to inform public housing (and other) residents about what the RAB does…and how tenants can get involved.
